The Words Dance

I used to run from words,

From rhymes, from lines unheard,

Poetry felt so distant,

Like a language I’d never learn…

But one day, without a sound,

It found me, wrapped around,

In a melody, a song,

In a chorus lost and found…

And the music rose inside of me,

A beat, a breath, a step, a sway,

The words were dancing, wild and free,

I finally heard what they would say…

Thank you, thank you, Academy,

For opening my eyes to see,

That every song’s a poet’s dream,

That every note holds poetry…

I wrote my story, traced my path,

Through sound and rhythm, love and laughs,

Each lesson, step by step, I grew,

With every word, I found something new…

And the music rose inside of me,

A beat, a breath, a step, a sway,

The words were dancing, wild and free,

I finally heard what they would say…

I learned to shape them, twist and turn,

To bend the lines, to let them burn,

To make them sing, to feel their weight,

And now my stories resonate…

It’s beautiful, this path I’ve found,

Each phrase, a door, a world unbound,

I keep on writing, reaching high,

And now I see, I touch the sky…

And the music rose inside of me,

A beat, a breath, a step, a sway,

The words were dancing, wild and free,

I finally heard what they would say…

Yes, I cheated… but it’s lovely, right?

After all, words are meant to play.
